3-4 rounds of interviews. Very good experience through and through: great people, work looks definitely interesting, very smooth recruiting process. First interview focusing entirely on fit (why DB, what would you do differently if you were the CEO, why the group management consulting team, etc). Really great, engaging and passionate interviewer. You need to clearly understand the purpose of an in-house consulting team and demonstrate an understanding of the bank and of its challenges. Second/third focusing mostly on case studies. Cases were fairly typical but focused on high level operational issues rather than blue-sky strategy - in line with the team's projects). Then again, these people were impressive, pleasant and conversational during and after the cases. Rigorous assessment during the case (focusing, as usual, on structure, business judgement/industry knowledge, communication and some amount of quantitative reasoning) and interesting discussions about the team. Was rejected because of one of the cases, with some feedback from HR. Fourth and last round is about fit. Quick process and rapid feedback. Professional, high-caliber and personable people doing high-impact work.
