Phone screening with HR, technical phone interview with the hiring manager followed by day long on-site interview with multiple people.
The hiring manager was insensitive, rude and condescending during the entire on-site interview duration. They made demeaning and denigrating comments about my qualifications and skills that I reported to their HR promptly after the interview was done, however no one followed up to offer an apology or acknowledge my experience.

The interviewers were condescending and the hiring manager was supercilious. Would not recommend working or interviewing here where they do not respect the candidates.

I applied in January/February for this role in Edinburgh. I got a follow up email telling me that they are pausing the hiring due to pandemic but would be interested in interviewing me as the roles open up again. luckily, they got back to around June and afterwards all the interviews were done fairly quickly, i would say within a couple of weeks and i was told same day on the day of my last interview that they are moving forward with an offer.
In total, I had 3 phone interviews and 1 video interview.
The first one was simple introduction about the company which lasted about 15 minutes. Second one was the longest interview and was a video interview as it was a technical interview.
From there, the HR contacted me in a few days telling me that i will need to attend an HR interview and a short chat with the director, after which they can let me know if they are moving on with the offer, which they did.
Note, as an international student i needed sponsorship which they offered me. So if anyone is in my position, don't lose hope because a lot of my friends kept telling me how hard it is for international students to get a job but i suppose if you keep trying it is not as hard as it seems.

Technical questions:
1. Build a FSM of pattern recognition?
2. What is meta-stability? further more discussion about mean time between failure
3. Diagram of Pull up and pull down transistor network
4. talk about Verilog/HDL experience
Also, one of the first question was interviewer wanted to hear in my word my experience and skills mentioned in the CV. So you must be able to explain all your projects and summarize the technical work mentioned in your CV concisely.
Soft skills:
The HR questions were on company values such as innovation, team work, leadership.
For example from your experience, tell us about a time where you showed innovation or leadership, or resolved a issue in a team. I suppose the key here is to show that you will be a good team player and will give credit to the whole team and resolve issues, because from the similarity in the director interview it did feel like they really value team work skills, more than anything.
