I had a recruiter reach out to me. We did a phone interview. I then scheduled an interview with the regional person. We spoke in depth about their needs, my experience, etc. They asked for me to come down and do a ride along. I was moving 2 states away. I drove down over 5 hours to do a ride along. I had a great experience. After the ride along, I sent an email to the regional person and the recruiter thanking for them for opportunity and would love to join the team. The recruiter said I would hear back soon with next steps. The regional person never replied. After not hearing anything for a week, I sent follow up emails again to see if there was still interest or if they chose someone else. Not a single word back. I was completely ghosted and wasted an entire 10 hour round trip and day off work to be ignored. I am very disappointed as I was incredibly excited for this opportunity and how responsive they were just to be ghosted. I very much wish it was different as I loved what they do.

In the beginning this seemed like a perfectly normal interview process and I really enjoyed meeting with different members of the team. Everyone I met was delightful, but the interview process took a strange turn. I was informed there would be a final stage of the interview and that my references would be contacted prior to that call. A few of my references reached out to me after being contacted to share that they felt the questions were extremely personal and left them with a bad taste. After all of that, I was ghosted by the company until I reached out repeatedly, only to be told that other candidates were in their first and second round of interviews. Understandable, but communication would be greatly appreciated. It also seemed wildly disrespectful to ask candidate references to submit their evaluations in such a short turnaround window when the final interview rounds were not even on the horizon. I was ghosted again and finally figured I hadn’t gotten the job when I saw a new hire on LinkedIn pop up with the job title I had applied for. Most bizarre of all, two of my references were later directly contacted by DispatchHealth regarding open positions “they might be interested in” which felt extremely inappropriate and was not at all welcomed by either individual.
Like I said the people on the team I met with seemed wonderful, but I think I dodged a bullet when I reflect on the strange behaviors of the enterprise. If a company cannot give a candidate the simple courtesy of a rejection after spending hours with various members of the organization, I hate to think how they treat their actual employees, or their patients for that matter.

Interviewed with the recruiter for about 15 minutes. The recruiter called and asked me the following day about relocation and set up an interview for a step above the position I applied for. I then interviewed for that position and everything seemed great. I never heard back. I emailed and left a message.
