      Colloquio per Program Manager

      21 set 2021
      Candidato anonimo a colloquio
      Nessuna offerta
      Esperienza negativa
      Colloquio facile

      Candidatura

La procedura ha richiesto 3 settimane. Ho sostenuto un colloquio presso Docusign nel mese di set 2021

      Colloquio

I was contacted by a recruiter to setup a quick phone screen shortly after being referred by an employee. This interview focused a little on my background, why I was looking to leave my current position, and why Docusign. Things went well and an interview with the hiring manager over zoom was scheduled shortly after. The interview with the hiring manager also went well. We talked about my background, her background, the position and what I would be doing, amongst other things. A big topic seemed to be about dealing with conflict resolution and I think they're really looking for people that fit in with the no jerks culture which I really appreciate. This interview also went well, and she told me she would like me to move on to the next round which was a panel interview with a product manager, QA director, as well as program managers on her team. She said a recruiter (different from the ones I'd previously interacted with) would get in touch with me to set that up. Unfortunately, this would be my last contact as the recruiter never reached out to me to set up that interview. I did reach out to the recruiter a couple of times to follow up on setting up that interview or see if anything had changed, but never received a response. Today, after two weeks, the recruiter emailed to let me know that an offer was being made to another candidate and that the position will remain open until that's finalized. Also said to feel free to consider other opportunities and she'll reach out if anything changes. I'm more disappointed with the lack of communication and being misled than the actual rejection. Not sure why I was told I would be moving on to the next round of interviewing only to never reach out to me and then select someone else. Feels like they were being less than honest and I think it was unprofessional.

      Domande di colloquio [1]

      Domanda 1

How do you resolve conflict? How do you deal with chaos? Questions were generally more behavioral as I think they want someone who fits in with the no jerk culture.

      Candidatura

Ho presentato la mia candidatura online. Ho sostenuto un colloquio presso Docusign (Seattle, WA)

      Colloquio

It was a first screening call with HR. HR scheduled call for 15 mins which lasted for 20 mins. It wasn't a zoom call so I couldn't understand whether I did good or bad.

How did you use JIRA? Why DocuSign? Why now? Why do you wanna change?

      Colloquio

      1. **Initial Screen & Behavioral Fit:** A brief call with a recruiter or HR to review the resume, gauge interest, and assess cultural fit and basic communication skills. This step often uses **behavioral questions** to understand the candidate's professional style. 2. **Technical Assessment (Screening):** This is a preliminary evaluation of core job skills, often through an online **coding challenge**, a short **take-home assignment**, or a focused technical screening call. Its goal is to filter for minimum competency. 3. **Hiring Manager Interview (Mixed):** This deeper discussion with the direct manager blends both question types. You'll face more **in-depth behavioral questions** (e.g., using the STAR method) about past projects, teamwork, and leadership, alongside **mid-level technical questions** about system design or domain knowledge. 4. **Deep Dive & Peer Review (Technical/Practical):** This stage involves team members or subject matter experts. It is highly **technical**, often including a **live coding session**, a **system design whiteboarding exercise**, or a deep analysis of a complex technical problem relevant to the role. This evaluates practical, on-the-job execution. 5. **Director/Final Review (Behavioral/Strategic):** The last step focuses on strategic alignment, vision, and long-term potential. An executive or department head asks high-level **behavioral and situational questions** about how the candidate handles ambiguity, makes difficult decisions, and contributes to the company's overall strategy and culture.
