Recruiter screen was ordinary. Hiring manager call went really well. The coding interview was coderpad with two engineers who would be my direct reports. The coding problem was reasonably challenging and relevant with two source files that needed to be completed. One of the engineers kept taking control of the session from both me and the other engineer. He would switch to the other file without warning which completely messed with the flow of the exercise and made completion impossible. I told him that we needed to agree when we switched pages which completely set him off. The other engineer was utterly passive through all this. Weirdest interview ever. It ended poorly. I tried to set up a call with the hiring manager to discuss what had happened but he was "unavailable".
