Applied through LinkedIn and got a quick initial chat interview with the engineering manager the next day. All interviews were done remotely, mainly with engineers located their San Francisco office Was given a take home challenge to complete within an estimated 5 hours which isn't strictly timed. After submission of the take home challenge was asked to explain my logic and architectural decisions with a engineer in a follow-up technical screen. Really enjoyed this as the engineer I was paired with really liked my implementation and asked insightful questions. Made it to the final round which involved 4 interviews in a day which were about an 1 - 1.5 hours long each. 1. Engineering manager interview regarding leadership principles 2. Knowledge domain interview (surrounding frontend/backend/devops principles) 3. Technical interview which involves an extension of the take home project 4. System design interview which involves a practical implementation of a DoorDash feature (I enjoyed this interview and thought I did the best during this round as it was actually applicable and not as open ended as other system design interviews I've experienced) Overall the process was really enjoyable and really enjoyed how the questions were more practical rather than traditional FAANG interviews that involve leetcode style questions. I truly thought I did really well and really enjoyed all the interviews, however was surprised when I got the rejection and simply ghosted. The recruiter and engineering manager offered providing feedback in their rejection email however why ask the candidate if they have any questions after a rejection then just ghost candidates?
