I interviewed for DoorDash late December through early February. The process was sort of dragged out because after the initial call, the recruiter told me that they were still figuring out the headcount for the data science org. After the initial call, I had a technical a month later and the virtual on-site another month later. The onsite comprised of 4-5 back to back interviews focusing mostly on experimentation (case studies), a behavioral/stakeholder interview and finally a 15 min wrap up with the hiring manager. Most of the interviewers showed up 5-10 mins and almost every single one looked like they had a lot going and were not invested in the interview process. One of the interviewers told me that I shouldn't be too upset if I don't get this role because the company tends to hire type A people. Type A and rude, apparently. Anyway, glad I'm not a part of such a cutthroat environment.

I applied online and after about a week, I received an email from the recruiter with a 15-question questionnaire. The next day, they scheduled a 1-hour interview consisting of a 30-minute case study and 30-minute SQL round. I spent significant time preparing and felt the interview went well. However, I received a rejection within 15 minutes after the interview ended. Honestly, the process felt discouraging. It almost seemed like the interview was conducted more for internal interviewer training than genuine hiring consideration. If you're interviewing there, I’d suggest treating it mainly as practice and interview experience rather than getting overly invested in the outcome.
