I applied online and got called for an interview. I came in, waited for the manager and did my interview. I was asked about 5-8 questions. He told me he would call me if he was interested. Later that day I was called back and ask if I was okay with a background check. I agreed and got a call back in about a week for orientation.

The questions were picked at random from a packet of questions. The packet contained around 3 questions per page, and they selected 1 one them, then flipped the page. Some questions I remember: -What do you know about Duane Reade? -Give me a scenario where you went out of your way to help a customer. -Why do you want to work at Duane Reade? -What do you think it means to keep the store clean/neat? -Give me a scenario where you had to deal with a bad customer? -What do you think good customer service means?
