We had our first interview at 05/23/2024 The 06/06/2024 They decided to go forward with other candidates that they consider more aligned with the position. That is because the positions in my resume are not titled "Sofware Engineer". They forgot to consider according to my experience as a Backend developer, DBA, and Data analyst with +25 years of experience, I am more qualified than a software engineer because I am a specialist in every one of the 3 areas that comprise a software engineer. In reality, a software engineer knows about these 3 areas superficially or generally.

Easy interview. Only bumpy round could be the last round (API Design), I would have preferred to have been interviewed by a senior engineer, it seemed like the engineer that was interviewing me was mid-level and he didn’t understand some system design concepts which probably led to him not passing me and I think I got points off for “thinking through the solution out loud” until I eventually got to a good solution. Besides the last round which was just unlucky, overall everyone else was great and down to earth. Questions they asked were easy. Note: if you do not pass they will not inform you, they will ghost you, So I would not wait to hear back from this company. Also, the recruiter told me that the initial round with the tech lead would not have any coding, this was wrong, but luckily question was really easy. The people were cool, but how the interview process was conducted was a red flag for me and the salary is low, so I likely would not have accepted even if offered.

I got ghosted by this company. I went through three rounds of interviews, spoke to 6 different people, including the recruiter, and was ultimately ghosted. I followed up twice, in case someone was on PTO, or things just got lost in the pile of applicants. First round was speaking with the recruiter. Second round was speaking with one of the lead software engineers about things I've done at my current job and in the past. Third round was a back-to-back with 4 different people, including a software engineer, senior software engineer, engineering manager, and senior product manager. Everyone I spoke to was nice and pleasant, I enjoyed the conversations I had with them. After the time commitment (almost a total of 4 hours) I had put into this process, I thought I would receive a simple rejection email at the very least.
