I first had a phone screening interview with an HR person. They asked me to describe my past jobs, why I wanted to work at EMSL and what I knew about them, etc. Then I scheduled an in-person interview. This ended up being a group interview with four different lab managers. Everyone was very pleasant and friendly. They asked me first to go through my resume and describe my work and education history. Then they discussed the job in more detail. There was a back and forth between me and them asking questions, and then we wrapped up. The phone interview and in-person interview were both about half an hour long.

Applied online. Had a telephone interview that lasted one hour and went very well. Two days later the recruiter said they pulled the position and they werent hiring anyone for it. This was a job position that been up for over a month, A ridiculous waste of time and very unproffesional.

First, I was put through a phone-interview with the HR recruiting person who I had originally spoke to. This lasted about 45 minutes to an hour and she was late to our call-interview by almost 30 minutes, which although wasn't affecting me or my schedule on that particular day-- I did find it to be quite unprofessional. At the conclusion of the phone interview I was asked to do an in-person interview with the local ESML lab that was hiring. I met with the lab manager and an associate for an in-person interview that lasted about 30 minutes. We went over my resume and what I was looking for/what they were looking for. I went on a tour of the lab and met the other employees (literally less than 10 people work here in total). I really enjoyed the atmosphere, the lab (although small, was professional, clean, and organized). I have yet to hear back from them on a job offer (they are interviewing multiple people to fill vacancies) but I do hope to hear back from them. If offered a job, I would accept.

Interviewer was more than fifteen minutes late to conduct the interview - no apology or explanation, they just hadn't gotten to work yet that day. So that was bizarre. Persons conducting the interview had no scientific background and didn't seem to know what the position entailed or how to evaluate technical skills or education for lab positions. It was clear the company has failed to adequately staff the lab and employees were explicitly admitted to be overworked.
Benefits described were abysmal- no sick days, and paid time off maxes - for ever - at 15 days/year after three years. Hiring is also contingent on signing a 2 year non compete, so good luck finding another job.
Majority of interview was questions about how long I would be in the area (i.e. Are you going to work here for several years?) which is fine but it went on and on. For example the interviewer probed about where I was from and if I was homesick and even how stable my partner's job is... it was very strange. They seem terrified that they might waste training on some one who won't commit their life to the company.
