First a screening with the recruiter which went well and was impressed with my experience last 30-40 minutes Second a 1 hour 30 minute interview which I booked the day off work for and prepared for thoroughly. With 2 x male managers : 1. First exercise was technical in nature - asking me to use a whiteboard and talk through the architecture of designing a system and what I would do end to end. I talked through technologies that have been utlised in the cloud to storing and accessing patient data from microservices, kubenetes, Kafka, AWS, Grafana (logging and dashboard) and also accessing APIs 2. Competency based with the usual management team questions - answered all. Feedback I got from recruiter I wasn't "technical enough" in my presentation. Being a woman and this "not technical enough" remark - I am used to at this stage in IT especially coming from 2 men. Talked to another recruiter afterwards - who said they themselves are really struggling to secure candidates at the company because they are soo picky and are expecting a "Golden Egg" I wouldn't recommend this place - I brought myself to that interview but was with 2 men who already decided I wasn't what they wanted but remained near silent throughout the interview - one of the managers barely bothered to even look at me through Zoom let alone speak. At this time of writing they still haven't found their Software Development Manager they are looking for - which says it all.
