First step was the initial call where basically I was talking about my career so far. Few organizational questions were asked like availability, salary expectations. Second step was the technical interview. The atmosphere was very formal and a bit ... tight. This interview has taken 2h30min. Three senior test automation engineers took round with their questions. Questions were mostly closed and required specific answer. There was no dispute, so it was very unknown if the answers were satisfactory or not. Firstly I have been asked about general testing theory. That included also some logical riddles and abstract questions. Second part was more technical. Questions regarding CI/CD, programming concepts, design patterns, backend testing. Third part was more practical. It was screen sharing session when I took over the control of the screen of one of the Senior Automation Engineers and I was asked to debug one of the test cases from the current company repository. This part was pretty tough due to the custom framework and stacktrace handler that was in place. After that I have been asked to create automated UI test from the scratch in my visual studio (with screen sharing). It felt a bit uncomfortable due to that, since I did not get the clear answer how I should proceed with that part: should I just go straight for the solution, or should I write an incomplete prototype, but follow best coding practices? The task was not that extensive, although after writing it for around 20 minutes I proposed to stop there, because it did not feel very productive for the interview anymore. Basically it became obvious I can handle the task, but since it was over 2 hours of interview at that moment I did get the chance to ask questions. I did get the feedback from the template, that the company decided to process other candidates. Unfortunately after sending the kind request for more information I was ignored, so I assume that it is not a place for a long term relationships and it will take time before I consider to re-apply
