I interviewed for two roles at this company, both for editorial roles in different titles under the company's portfolio. Even though I didn't get the job, I didn't hate the first interview I did. After an initial, more casual meeting with an editor I met with the director, a well-respected member of the industry. They were friendly, professional and respectful — no airs, or patronising tones. They asked me questions about my career history and provided in-depth explanations about company culture and of course, the role itself. I didn't get the first job, though the director was kind enough to pass my resume along to other departments — which led to my second interview at this company. This was for an unspecified role for another title, which made it hard to prepare for. The interview started off friendly enough but began to take a frostier turn when they started to question why I left my last job after such a brief period, and why I was looking again (I went freelance). I think the final nail in the coffin was when we talked about salary expectations. They said there was no way they could offer it. I didn't hear back regarding the job, although I was commissioned to work on a couple of assignments on a freelance basis. Tip: You have to really know your luxury stuff to work here.
