They like to make the process take longer than it should. At times it felt like they were stringing me along just to see if I was dedicated enough. First you apply, then you do interviews via recordings, then you have an interview to talk about the same things. Then you get to do a half day "simulation" to see if you can multiktask. Then you get scheduled for another meeting with the HR manager. Then you have to meet with people in the region. If you're in the process while at another job, better hope you have some PTO saved up for all of the time off you'll be taking. It doesn't feel like they respect the person on the other end, but they'll continually say how "EJ has a strict interview process because we only hire the best!" Again, it felt like part of an initiation and just the first step into living and breathing everything EJ that they expect of their employees.

Interview process first consists of numerous dinner events, all very laid back where you get to learn more about the company and the advisors in the region, and they get to learn more about you. If you keep getting invited back to dinners, consider it progress in the interview process. Honestly, the best, most effective interview process.

it's a series of interviews with people in the office then a full-day of simulating the role of the advisor where you're receiving calls from clients and team mates as well as receiving emails. As a career-changer, this was the part of the interview phase where I realized Edward Jones wasn't the right start to my career as a financial advisor and ended up going somewhere that invested in my growth rather than a "sink or swim" type of place.
