Never have I had an interview that felt like such a waste of my time. The interviewer looked displeased from the moment he appeared on the video call. He skipped the usual friendly small talk, and immediately expressed disapproval of my CV. “I see massive red flags” were the literal words he used.
He launched into questions about my background, but rather than starting with the standard “Tell me about yourself,” he asked pointed, loaded questions. For the vast majority of the interview he was fixated on the length of tenure in my previous roles. While I’m very happy to discuss that, I don’t think spending nearly the entire conversation on this one topic is productive, especially with so many other important areas to cover.
There was no opportunity to discuss my actual work experience and achievements, or the skills and ideas I could bring to Elcometer. He wasn’t curious about why I wanted to work at the company or in the manufacturing industry and didn’t share any information about the role. What little he had to say about the team wasn’t positive.
Ho presentato la mia candidatura tramite segnalazione di un dipendente. La procedura ha richiesto una settimana. Ho sostenuto un colloquio presso Elcometer (Rochester, MI) nel mese di set 2018
