Interviewed with their HR person, operation manager and grants strategist individually. For the last 2 interviews, I was asked to send Zoom invites, which I thought was a bit unexpected. Chatted with each person that I lived outside of the country, with an imminent move to the US. It would be no issue for me to be in the US before beginning employment. I received very favorable comments during the interviews. Then, they went radio silent. I followed up after a week and after another week, I received an email saying they selected another candidate because they anticipated issues with hiring me outside of the US. Umm.. what? Did you not pay attention or remember the conversations we had about how moving to the US was literally an hour away from where I was living? That I had housing set up in the US? I’m a US citizen. Super easy move. Sounds like I might have dodged a bullet if they can’t listen and retain info.
