      Candidatura

Ho presentato la mia candidatura online. Ho sostenuto un colloquio presso Eleos Web (Singapore) nel mese di giu 2016

      Colloquio

I always make it a point to turn up 30 minutes earlier than the actual appointment time, so that I have plenty of time to find the actual location of the office. For this particular interview I was an hour early. Since there's no lobby in the office building, I had to chill out at the 7-11 store across the street (weather was extremely hot that day). Point is, I was really really early. But the interview left a terrible taste in my mouth, I felt as if I have wasted my time. Also, office is not exactly in a very ideal location. Let's start from the beginning. I applied online, the process took a few days. I was contacted via email. The contact seemed friendly, although there was a lack of professionalism (you can see it in the email), but I'm not going to fault with that. I arrived at the office lobby 15 minutes before my appointment time. The core interviewer was busy (nevermind that, it happens). So instead of having an interview with two interviewers, I had to sit it through with one interviewer first. A couple of questions were asked, none too difficult, in fact pretty standard questions. Because responsibilities and scopes were not stated in the job adv, I only got to know about the details during the interview (not something you would normally succumb yourself to, unless you want to give yourself and the company a chance). Anyway, fast-forward the interview - it took about 45 minutes or so, before the core interviewer enters the room. At this point, everything was going just fine. But 10 minutes later, I was hoping deep down they wouldn't call me to offer me, because I would have to find a GOOD reason why I want to reject them. (Thankfully, they didn't.) The second interviewer DISMISSED my past work experiences in one deep breath, if I were to quote the exact word he used, it was "rubbish". He was rude and unprofessional. "Tell me about yourself" - I wasn't even halfway through the 30-second mark before he cut me off. So that was two red flags waving at me within a span of 3 minutes. He then proceeded to ask "So, when can you start?" "Why do you need 1-week notice period?" In short, he sounded really desperate to fill the position. There was no technical test involved as well, and even though this position stated that candidates with 1 year work experience CAN apply, I believe that what they need is an experienced person of at least 3-4 years of experience. Please be mindful that this company is plucking at straws. A more efficient way of having to save both the company's and candidate's time is to do a PHONE interview first. Suffice to say, I was appalled by the severe lack of manners and professionalism from a person who supposedly heads the company.
