      Colloquio

Everything about this company is a total scam for recent grads, avoid at all costs. Empire is only looking for young people to take advantage of. I applied for a position in HR, and was contacted for an in person interview the next day. Upon walking in, I was greeted by the "HR Director" which should be read as "Receptionist", who asked me to fill out a basic application and then told me that I should watch Netflix while I wait and asked me to pick out a show.... Rather than being interviewed by the person "in charge" of HR, I was interviewed by the President of the company, so I had to wait for him. I began asking her questions about the position, and she couldn't tell me anything but her own duties. When Mark, the president, came to grab me for my interview, he could hardly string together a sentence due to the amount of sniffling after every pause (I can only imagine why/what he was sniffing based on the residue on the desk). The whole process probably took ten minutes, he proceeded to talk about himself and tell me all about his shiny new BMW. Then started talking about money for the first couple of minutes, followed by telling me all about the new offices that were just opened up in Ohio (for which I could find no information on whatsoever), and finally making a flimsy connection based on my university, and then finally started talking about the job. He told me about the business, which was basically selling energy services to businesses door to door, and talked about the importance of sales skills. I interjected, telling him that I was looking for an HR position, as that was where I had applied. He then told me that in order to be brought on as a recruiter, I would have to work for at least 6 months in a sales role to "learn the business". When I reiterated, AGAIN, that I was not interested in a sales position, but rather the position that I ACTUALLY APPLIED FOR he showed me the door. This is just another company that takes in recent grads, works them, pays them nothing outside of commissions, and then burns them. I nearly walked out of the interview before it started after speaking to the receptionist, and I can only hope that other job seekers can see this scam for what it really is before wasting their time.

      Domande di colloquio [1]

      Domanda 1

No questions were asked, as he was not interested in me or my background. He talked about himself through the entire interview
