I recently interviewed for the COTA job at Encompass in Mechanicsburg. Unfortunately the only way I can describe my feelings about it is that it was a bait and switch. Upon my arrival, the HR representative informed me that we were waiting for the nursing manager. I asked for clarification as to why the nursing manager was coming for an interview for a therapy position. She then explained to me that it was "a therapy position under the nursing department". When the nursing manager arrived, they provided me with more details. As they were explaining the required tasks for the position, it became apparent to me that I would not be working within the capacity of a COTA, but more so as a nursing tech. The job listing they have posted is misrepresenting the actual position, which, from the information I received during the interview, does not offer the opportunity to provide skilled treatment to patients.

Interview was 15 minutes. It was a terrible experience. Questions were all objective and I was left no room to express my passion for the field. I drove in from out of town just for them to tell me they did not want to hire a new grad. Interviewer read my resume 30 seconds prior to interviewing me and they cut me off while I was explaining my experience.
