First interview was with HR on the phone. It was fine. It was clear she didn’t know anything about the position. The second phone interview was with the CIO and he was 21 minutes late. I had given up by then. I was quite put off by the interview. He even asked a couple questions/made statements I thought were unprofessional. The third interview was with IT leadership. I didn’t think much going in. But they talked a good game. None of what they said about their department was true. They led me to believe it was more organized and streamlined than it was. It was a bit long. The fourth interview was with the biz/dev side. It was three basic questions and them just going on about how much they needed me and how great I was. It was a half hour which I enforced because I had a hard stop due to an important meeting at my current employer at the time. I got the offer later that afternoon. I am giving this a negative for two reasons. First the second phone interview was very off-putting. He was quite late and I found some of it quite inappropriate. He also made me late for my job. The second reason is that the questions I asked in person were not answered honestly, and they misrepresented their department and current situation. I was shocked at what I walked into on my first day of work.
