      Ho presentato la mia candidatura online. La procedura ha richiesto 2 mesi. Ho sostenuto un colloquio presso Ericsson (Nairobi) nel mese di mar 2014

      Colloquio

      I applied online, for a senior position [head of practise] it took 2 to 3 weeks to get a Skype call with many Ericsson guys scattered all around the planet, Africa and Europe. They were HR and Practice team people. The 1st call lasted 1 hour, went well, with many questions on their sides, and a few from mine. At the end of the call, they asked me for a minimum of 5 contacts for a background check. I found at later that they did not even mind to call any of them … Then they never replied to my emails (I was just asking about the next steps, as I did not hear from them for 4 weeks… Then the lady in charge of the HR communication said she was sorry for such delay (not for being silent though …) and sent me an online test with personality questions, logical tests, numerical tests, situation tests, etc. The whole test can take you like 1 or 2 hours online. There were 5 topics, I did 3 seriously, then gave up to the logical and numerical, that had a short timing (20 mins). After 20 years experience in telcos I felt like I was playing jeopardy , and I asked myself "do you really want to work for these guys?". Then I gave up, they told me they did not want to continue with me, and I believe we at least were on the same page at this stage! The funny thing is that they did not even question their lack of professionalism, like not answering my emails or not calling my former peers (then why asking me contacts, they did not place a call in 1,5 months!). Overall experience = VERY BAD. I feel sad for them because Ericsson is a great company, and I am not sure they gave a good image here.

      I am clrealy unsure if this is a common practice for Ericsson worldwide, but in Africa they sent me a logical test, numerical test, behavior test, etc …
