I was asked to provide a passport (UK) and 2 references on the day. A group of us (~20) were gathered in a room and asked to mingle. They took a photo and then we were given a presentation about the Esprit Group detailing what is expected of employees and then it moved on to demonstrations of skills. For example, we were shown how to set a table and then we had to show that we could do it too. Then the presentation continued with health and safety. The interview and assessment lasted 3 hours and pretty much guaranteed a job. At the end of it, we were given a 5 minute test with MCQs and open questions, stating that 15/20 is the minimum to pass. This was then peer marked. There were no one-on-one interviews or any formal questions, they just wanted to see how outgoing we were and whether or not we could do the tasks at hand. The minimum requirement is to show that we can carry 5 plates when clearing. They said they'd be in touch within 3 working days but I received a confirmation before the end of the day.
