      Colloquio per Receptionist

      Candidatura

Ho presentato la mia candidatura online. La procedura ha richiesto 2 settimane. Ho sostenuto un colloquio presso Esrock Partners

      Colloquio

I applied for a receptionist position via Craigslist. They emailed me back maybe 1-3 days later and asked if I could come in for an interview. I went in for the interview less than a week later. Unfortunately, I hadn't driven in downtown Orland for a while and was unaware that they had torn up several streets. I was about 2 minutes late for my interview. They put me in an empty conference room to fill out a personality test while the president (?) and vice-president were having a conference call in the adjacent conference room. I don't think they realize how thin those walls are because I heard a lot of things I probably wasn't supposed to--including their opinion of the person they were speaking to on the phone and their opinion of my 2-minute tardiness. I probably should have walked out right then but, for some reason, I decided to stay. The interview itself was pretty grueling. It felt very high-end corporate. Both the president and vice-president had copies of my resume and were scribbling notes and circling things the entire time. They really dissected my education and my past experiences. They also kept asking me if I was sure I could handle it because apparently the president comes out of his office yelling a lot and the receptionist is not supposed to take it personally... The actual interview was maybe a half-hour on top of about 10-15 minutes I spent filling out the personality test and other paperwork. I received not one, but two rejection letters via email somewhere between a week to 2 weeks later.

      Domande di colloquio [1]

      Domanda 1

Probably just the typical "What didn't you like about your previous job?" That always feels like a trick to me. I actually think the hardest part about the interview was that they didn't really ask a lot of questions. They would read your resume and say, "So you went to this college?......" So then I felt like I had to turn that into something impressive.
