Contacted by a recruiter and invited for face to face in NYC. Met with 3 people for 30 minutes. Interview went great or so I thought. Was invited in for 2nd interview with higher level executives. Met with 4 people for 30 minutes at a different location than the first. They were all semi professional, I found one of the 4 to be a bit snotty in his approach. The questions weren't difficult or even probing as far as professional experience was concerned. Interview went well or so I thought again. I was invited to a 3rd round with 2 additional people at 2 different locations in NYC. Once again, parking tolls and time off from work to consider. I was told the 3rd round was to see about "fit" as there were mutliple positions open. Prior to the 3rd round my references were requested, provided and called. Received a call exactly 1 week later and was told someone else was selected because they had more experience!!! Completely blown away. That information could have been gathered from my resume well before the 3rd interview. That was a poor excuse. I'm not sure where the position fit in the company if there was even a position to fill or if they hired anyone at all.

Applied on the careers site and then a recruiter reached out about a week later to schedule a screening call. I was asked about my experience along with my salary expectations. The Recruiter shared that they would pass along my resume and feedback from our conversation to the hiring manager. About a week later the Recruiter followed up that they will have their Recruiting Coordinator schedule an interview for me with the hiring manager after the holiday break due to Christmas being the following week. I never heard back from the Recruiter or Recruiting Coordinator but the vacancy was closed about two months later without any further updates. I understand an offer could have been made to another candidate or business needs may have shifted that are out of Recruitment's control but an update should have been provided as it is very unprofessional to tell a candidate to keep a lookout for an interview invite with the Hiring Manager only to never hear back.

Interviewer greeted me by saying that she did not have much time because she had a flight to catch for business. She was not engaging and did not offer anything to discuss. She asked 1) So how do you know so and so ? (exec. who arranged the interview) 2) What do you want to do? I could be wrong, but she seemed to want to make the point that exec. level referrals make no difference in the interview process.

The interview was with the Human Resource Director of Estee Lauder Companies (Singapore) and it lasted for about 30 - 45 minutes. Interviewer was nice but asked pretty tough questions. He suggested that I bring along a notebook next time to write down what my future interviewer(s) says.
