      Colloquio

Interview process was interesting - started with an initial phone interview which is to be expected and was asked normal interview type questions. I regard the interview process as also very much an opportunity for me to interview a company as I really believe that a position should be a good fit for all involved. Interesting reading the reviews on Glassdoor about the CEO being seemingly problematic as when I asked the interviewer in my call about her experience, she mentioned the CEO ducked out in the middle of her interview to pick his kid up from school. The interviewer saw that as a good thing but personally for me that was a bit of a red flag as I don't think it's very professional to schedule an interview with someone when you know you're going to have to leave in the middle of it. Anyway, I progressed through to the next stage and was still at this point keen to learn more about the role and company. I should note as well that in order to progress to the first interview stage, I had to sit an online 15 minute psychometric test which I thought was quite interesting. I've sat psychometric tests before, but this one was extremely rudimentary (literally checking to see if applicants can understand English and do basic math). I don't know how I felt about this test as it was a little bit vexing that you have to prove you have basic cognitive function after they've clearly already approved your resume application and had an in depth phone conversation or interview. The 1st round interview itself was ok. I enjoyed it overall and the people I connected with I think were fair in the questions they asked and seemed like lovely people. I didn't hear back until about a week later that I had not progressed to the next stage which I think is a tad slow in terms of time frames for getting back to an interviewee that has taken time out of their day to connect (just my opinion, and to be fair I also understand and felt that perhaps the interviewers had a heavy and busy workload). At this stage I had already progressed with other opportunities and would have had to decline the next interview anyway. The other thing the interviewer mentioned at the end of my last interview was that should I progress to the 2nd interview round, the next interview would be with the CEO himself and would be long and 'intense' (not the interviewer's exact words, but that's basically the gist of it) - I was already a bit put off by that too. I've had to go through a 5 interview round process for securing work in the past, so I'm not averse to a long interview process but somehow this one sounded daunting and definitely that it's going to be the CEO who's making the final decision. Based again on all the reviews here, I kind of felt that the CEO is probably going to be looking for something or someone very specific.
