Very long and drawn out, even more so than other boarding school interviews. Interview with HoD involved unnecessary questions about understanding of content and a grading activity. While I understand this may be necessary for new teachers or fresh grads, it is patronising for experienced teachers. In one interview with upper management, I was asked how I would respond to being asked to work excessive hours. I said it would depend on the level of excess: is it just being asked occasionally to work longer hours for a busy week, or is it accepting that this level of excessive hours is the norm? I responded with if it were the former, I would deal with it myself by managing my time appropriately. However if it were the latter, I would tell my line manager that this is unsustainable long-term. They clearly did not like my response to the question.
