Applied through their online hiring system took a month before I was contacted by a recruiter. A phone interview was requested at very short notice during working hours when I would be at my current job and an in person meet up a couple of days later. I was very stressed as I was in a responsible position and felt bad taking time out of my job at such short notice, however I did. Phone interview went ahead, in person interview was changed and rescheduled for two days later. Then two Skype interviews were setup for the following week the first one was rescheduled three times by them before it actually took place each time it was supposed to happen during my normal working hours and I had to keep planning to miss work and then it would be changed at the last minute. The last Skype interview was changed 5 - 6 times and when it finally took place about a month after the initial interview the interviewer seemed distracted and like they wanted to go. I then heard absolutely nothing for two weeks, I emailed twice and finally got a cursory reply from a different recruiter. I felt really stressed during the whole process and let down by how they treated me when I put a lot of time and effort into the process and was so accommodating about all the cancelations and changes.

Great company and people, not so good recruiting team. My process consisted of 7 interviews in 3 rounds. First recruiter, the hiring manager and the 5 loop like interviews, and it took 3 months in total, with long gaps between rounds where recruiter was ghosting me, not replying my emails, not answering my questions, etc. also let’s say that they don’t prepare you in any form or capacity to interview. Having interview with plenty of tech companies in the past (both FAANG and not) this was definitely the worst, less communicative, more shady, I’ve had. Pretty much weeks of no response followed by a “We loved talking to you so you moved to next step / want to make you an offer” reading other reviews, it seems this is the norm, which is extremely ironic as everyone i interviewed was was really nice and communicative. You’d think I had a bad recruiter but I had the chance to talk to a few coordinators also through my journey and all were the same. This solely made me decline their offer, which wasn’t the best either. I know things might move slow, but good recruiters touch base with you regardless just to tell you they there is no update. Etsy needs to up their game on this side if they want to attract good talent.
