I was told about the role by someone I worked with previously, who I knew was pretty happy with Everpress. The job ad stood out to me because the writing showed empathy and a real understanding of what the role entails, very unlike the usual laundry list ad we see for engineering positions.
The interview process consisted of three stages and it took one month in total:
1. A screening call with the VP of engineering
2. Interview and presentation about a technical project led by me, with VP, product lead and engineering lead
3. Competencies and cultural fit interview, with the CEO and COO
I really enjoyed that I got feedback throughout the whole process. It was reassuring to know that everything was going well. I also really appreciated how Gav explained in advance what I should expect before each interview and even provided examples of the type of questions being asked. This gave me an opportunity to prepare ahead of time and made me feel respected as professional, since there were no tricks or surprises.
Overall I was really impressed with the interview process, the people I met, and the company values. Everyone was open and friendly and seemed really invested in sustainability and helping small creators, so I accepted the offer (and am glad I did).
