Answer situational questions, participate in role-playing, have a formal interview, take a basic competency quiz, interact with student customers on site, at which point management makes a snap judgment if you don't suddenly become some sort of histrionic entertainer with the kids even though it's clear they are intently concentrating on reading or math problems online with employed tutors already swarming over them. So if you want the job you had better be willing to cut in on the child's learning process uninvited and step on some tutors' toes to put on a good show. I came away with the sense that this was maybe 20% about actually helping students and 80% about theatrics to make a good sell to the parents going in and out the door. And the pay rate of $10.00 is well below the average for a tutor, just take a look at any official salary index. Very splashy and commercialized with computers taking primary stage while tutors play second fiddle, and I don't think there is much in it for anyone unless you are the manager calling the shots.
