My advice - flaunt your communication and social skills. Don’t worry too much about hard skills as long as you have decent maths and English grades from secondary, a-level or at degree level.

Friendly interviewer, laid out the format of the interview at the start. The role I had applied for had already been filled but discussed which centres were nearby and found a role I could take. Questions took roughly 15 mins, then asked about logistics (my availability, any planned time off etc). Let me know I would hear from them in the next three working days.

Why do I want to work in education? What would be your greatest challenge coming into the role? What does safeguarding mean to you? If a student was having a difficult session and having trouble focusing, how would you feed this back to the parent whilst the child is there?
