      Colloquio

My interview process took only 3 days. I sent in my resume from a job board website and was called almost immediately of sending it in. I was told this is a 2 part interview and depending on how well you interview you may be reviewed for management. The starting pay will be $16/hour plus compensation. (Not a bad gig) My first interview was with Melvin. The interview was only 10 minutes and he basically wanted to meet you and read over your resume. He asked basic interview questions, nothing hard. His main goal was to explain why his branch is hiring. He is hiring because he looking for a manager to manage a future branch that "you" will eventually run with your own team. Just like him. (Sounds too good to be true kind of things). I was told in this interview to come on this date and time for the second interview. The second interview really showed you the company. You met at the office and they have a client representative take you to a big box location where they have a "booth" and sell Direct TV... The sales rep sits me down in the cafeteria area of the store and asks more questions. Tell me more about yourself and do you have any sales experience kind of thing. Again nothing hard. They then say well you are being interviewed for management because we think you will be a great branch manager but you first have to do 4-6 weeks of on floor sales and meet atleast 5 sales a week to atleast be qualified to become a team leader. Once you are a team leader you get 3 reps to manage and motivate them to meet their sales each week (on top of you meeting your 5 a week) for 10-14 weeks. THEN after this you will be qualified to be in management and when a branch is opening you can manage that branch... So she then shows how much money you make. You start at a salary of $505 (0-3 sales) you get an additional $50 if you make 3 sales and each additional sale is another $150 bonus on top of your weekly check. If you have a rough week, no big deal they sit down with you and discuss how you can improve, by the second rough week if you are still doing bad they cut you. It is a 6 day work week averaging 42-45 hours a week. So $505 divided by 42 hours is $12/hour. Not $16/hour like I was told. Now if you sell 4 a week it is $705 then it is around $17 an hour. So it is all about performance. Now when you are a branch manager you make $105 a sale for just being the manager. When you promote someone to a branch manager from your team you get a $35 bonus for each sale that branch does. So no wonder Melvin wants to hire a bunch of over qualified people. It is a PYRAMID. The head guy sits around plotting and planning how to get bigger while the little guys work hard to make them money and if they don't perform... Well you get cut because your not making them money.

Hello, thank you for your interest in a position at Explosive Advertising Inc. Your review is much appreciated. There are several incorrect things listed in your review and I’d like to list the facts for you. You stated that our admin told you over the phone that you would be paid $16 per hour. Our Recruiter has no authority to make offers of pay rates to applicants. It is possible that she gave you a pay range based on the position you applied for (Marketing Reps make $12 - $16/hr.). It is possible that you were offered a lower rate than $16 per hour based on our observation during your interview process. We offer a guaranteed based hourly rate and extra commission based on performance. With the hourly plus commission plan, high performers will make more money than under-performers. As far as being a pyramid, we are not. We have client Representatives, Trainers/Supervisors, Upper Management, Regional Managers, and an Owner. Obviously, the higher you are in the company, the more money you make; but that’s consistent with all companies. Finally, in your last sentence, you stated that employees who don’t make the company money would be let go. We invest time, money, and resources into our staff. So, we go through extreme measures to improve performance before letting anyone go. Even so, we still have company standards; but I don’t think that is a negative. Any company who hires and keeps staff that aren't benefiting the organization and costing business, wouldn’t be a successful company for long. We appreciate your feedback and wish you the best of luck on all your future endeavors.
