I was browsing in a fairly new mall in Scottsdale called Scottsdale Quarter, which shops and restaurant are still being built, and I saw Express was "coming soon" and said now hiring so I applied online. I got a call maybe a week and a half or so after I submitted my application asking to come in for a group interview and I excitedly accepted!
I came to the interview, which was at another express location in a different mall with about 5 other girls and 2 older women. Overall, the guy who interviewed us was VERY laid back and really cool! He pretty said that he wanted to make this easy, ask just a few questions and get to know each other. He expressed how Express really treat each other like a family and just made this job sound like so much fun! He started off the interview by giving us some background information about himself and what brought him to where he is today. Then he asked us 3 questions total, Tell me about yourself, what separates sales from customer service and, of course, why express. VERY simple. I was very confident about what I said and overall felt really comfortable in the interview. To my surprise, at the end of the interview, he told every girl at the interview how he loved us all already and wanted all of us to come to the orientation, which was a few days later. Afterwards, a few girls and myself kind of quesetioned if he just hired all of us lol but we were just excited that he told us all the information you get pretty much when you know your getting hired. Not to mention, but he commented on how he loved the cardigan I was wearing, so definite kudo points right there! Which made me feel even better!
A day later he called me officially offering me the position and I accepted. Unfortunately the pay is a little lower that I expected but I don't have any retail experience so that could be way. But overall, I really want this job and overall, this was an EXTREMELY positive experience and I'm so excited to go to orientation tomorrow!
