Got a phone call asking for an interview appointment. Didn't even mention the position I was being considered for. I had to ask. Did three interviews, two with actual managers and one with HR. All three on different days. No email contact ever, strictly phone. I am supposed to remember names of people I talk to. List of HR questions was epic. Do you prefer quality or quantity? Said 55-65 and offered 70, same as other entry level positions despite the 5 year experience. I hate it when HR looks at one particular position and completely ignores what the individual is capable of. HR cannot read people. They offered me a job when I was clearly faking my way in. Or maybe I'm really good at it. I've been there three times now, the first two were short 15 mins interviews. No technical questions at all. In fact they offered me the position without a single technical question ever being asked. They claim to be a conservative company, I found them to be more conservative than my previous Japanese employer. So much for being in California. Clean shave everyday, short hair, business dressing, no jeans or 'tennis' shoes, no smoking on campus, not even in parking lot. Seriously? Out of all the positions I had applied for they selected me for a position that required a special language skill. Technical ability or experience was completely ignored. They made an offer but were surprised when I said I want time to think. They actually assumed that I'd sign it right away. Also expected me to take a medical test right there and then.
