The interview process involved meeting with the hiring manager and a human resources representative. 1) The hiring manager explained the expectations and responsibilities of the role very well. He didn't inquire too much into my background. 2) The HR rep gave me a situational interview. Her questions were designed to test my responses to difficult hypothetical questions. Oft-times, she would interrupt me with a second question before I could finish answering the first. There was a constant feeling that I was never adequately answering her questions.

First of all I have to say that everyone I know who works at Extron is very unhappy. The culture is awful, the management have a 'rat-pack' mentality, the conditions are from the 1950's, the HR management do not care about their employees, no one can wear jeans except from what people say management does. So why would I interview? I am looking for a job and thought I would see for myself how the interview process would progress and what I thought of the questions and attitude. It seems that the same jobs are available over and over. Other Technical Writers that I am close to have interviewed and we all came away with the same thoughts; persons involved in the interviews are not sure what they are looking for in a candidate, they do not like anyone who is more qualified then themselves, the atmosphere is oppressive. You have to ask yourself why you would want to support such a company.
