Colloquio
A group interview - we arrived and were given a brief speech about the company by the HR director then were split into groups. One group presents their conference ideas while the others are being interviewed (either one or two interviewers per person).
The 'interview' was more of an interrogation where they pick apart your CV. There was no conversation and never a feeling that they wanted you to succeed but that they were trying to catch you out which was a shame.
After the interview we were given 3 minutes to present our conference ideas in an informal setting. Once the whole group had presented we were given feedback and then asked to decide which conference we thought was best.

What do you think the role of conference producer entails? Why do you think you'd be good at it?

Involved a bit of thinking but wasnt too bad. Focus was one previous experience, what you can bring to the company, how commercially aware you are, career progression within the conference production space

To be honest it is all a bit of a blur. They don't have a good system in place. However, the plus side is that you get to meet a lot of people in the office and gage what the office dynamic is like. There were some really nice people who were engaged in my interviews and then the other half couldn't give a rat's .... One guy even bit his shirt whilst I was answering his questions. So I did four interviews, got all the way to the end. The process was pretty simple. First interview - Basic CV questions and a little about why you want the job. Second interview - Group session where you build your own conference idea and present to the group, you are questioned by your fellow interviewees. Third Interview- Thorough questions across CV, personality, marketing and research skills. Fourth interview - This is where I really don't understand their process. They told my recruiter they were really happy with my interviews and just wanted a formal chat. When I came in they had hard hitting questions about my weak points and pushed on it. I understand why they chose this tactic but it was not executed correctly. The man would ask me a question and then follow it up with, why did you say that? and then again and again...
