      Colloquio

Initially Interview process was very good, but then it became pathetic. It started with the first round, which was with the hiring manager and focused on leadership skills and some technical topics. I received feedback the next day that I had cleared this round. The second round was system design, followed by the third round, which focused on technical troubleshooting, After 2 days, I was informed that I had cleared both rounds and was invited to the final leadership round. this is where things took an unexpected turn was supposed to be with the hiring manager, but I was informed at the last minute that the hiring manager who took my first round had changed. The new manager started the interview using the STAR method, While I have extensive experience at other large companies and was able to answer the STAR questions well, I was never informed beforehand that this format would be used in this round. From the beginning, this new manager's tone was discouraging, He questioned why I wanted to join the company, emphasizing its startup nature and the instability and frequent changes involved. Despite my assurance that I was okay with such challenges, he continued with a negative tone throughout the interview. Later, I checked his LinkedIn profile and saw that despite coming from a FAANG background, It struck me that he might feel frustrated working in a role where others with significantly less experience held the same or higher titles. Perhaps circumstances at his previous company led him to this role, which could explain his demeanor. Toward the end of the interview, he asked if I had any questions. When I posed one, his response was shocking: he admitted that the issue I raised was something he had also brought up with management but had not received any answer at all so far. His lack of professionalism in this response left me stunned—I couldn't help but think, Wow, what an answer! It took him over three weeks to provide feedback, stating that they were looking for more leadership skills. This struck me as ironic, considering the first-round interviewer same level of the last one had already evaluated and approved my leadership abilities. The delay in just giving the feedabck of the last round of more than 3 weeks near to 4 weeks and vague feedback made me seriously question his own leadership capabilities. Overall, the experience was disheartening and raised significant concerns about the interview process and leadership alignment within the company.
