Several screeners - from overseas. A couple of phone conversations with someone in the office. An immediate interview was required since the person leaving was departing in a few days time. The interviewer, on the phone, indicated that they understood that this was short notice, but thanked me if I could make the interview the next day.
I went to the Irvine location. I was greeted by the same person who I had chatted with on the phone. She seemed completely uninterested and, tbh, unhappy in her job. She said she needed to ask me several questions (roughly 20-30). These were yes/no answers and nothing extraordinary or even related to the experience nor to the job itself. Think about questions you would have been asked at your first-ever interview while you were in high school. This lasted about 10 minutes.
Then I met with the owner. He seemed more interested in talking than asking questions. He talked about the growth of the company and the prospects, etc... asked me if I was willing to move. Then he talked briefly about the jobs and the expectations, no details - just big ideas. Sound great, but it felt like he'd been used to pitching to VCs for a while and I caught the last show.
