Mixed experience — strong individuals, uneven interview structure I interviewed for a technical role at Fabric8Labs and had a mixed experience. My initial conversation with the engineering lead was positive and well run. Expectations were communicated clearly at that stage, and the discussion left a strong first impression. However, the onsite interview differed from what was described ahead of time. I had proactively asked about the interview format and prepared accordingly, but the actual onsite included an unexpected behavioral evaluation that was framed as a brief “meet the team.” While most of the panel, including the team lead, remained professional and constructive, one interaction felt unnecessarily adversarial and changed the tone of the room. The technical exercise itself was reasonable and not overly difficult, but it was quite open-ended. This made it difficult to know what the interviewers were specifically looking for in a solution. Overall, there were professional and thoughtful interviewers involved, and I appreciated the engagement from the team lead and two members in particular. That said, the process would benefit from clearer communication around interview structure, more explicit constraints during technical exercises, and more consistent professionalism during candidate evaluations.

Fast paced and thorough. The person i spoke with asked great technical questions that I was luckily prepared for. The interview was only 20 minutes but felt like 30-40 minutes interview topics.
