      Colloquio

The interviews are a 6 step process. I applied for a different position, but the recruiter called and said this position better fits by experience, so I continued. I had three interviews by phone, one had to be rescheduled because the hiring manager never called, so I wasted time off work for an interview that didn't happen. Nevertheless, I continued to move forward because they sell the company very well. Step 4: meet with 4 people individually face to face. The last interviewer is the CEOs wife, the "Chief Culture Officer." Her title basically means she gets to decide if she likes you and if you believe the same things she does. I told her I work for a government contracted agency for child abuse and neglect currently. She asked me if I was abused as a child and if that's why I work there! She proceeded to tell me her and her husband do not believe in God. It was the most bizarre interview ever. Go figure, I did not receive an offer, but now I'm thanking God I didn't. If this lady is that unprofessional and worried about my personal life more than the skills and experience I could bring to the company, I should've ran the other direction 4 steps sooner. She needs to learn what's even legal to ask candidates at an interview. Had I been offered to move forward, I would have had to complete a personality assessment, write a letter to the CEO, and then interview with him as well. The process is a little excessive for low level positions.

I work for a child abuse organization. Teresa asked, "were you abused as a child? Is that why you got into that field?"

Like others I have seen on here, I to only had a meeting with the recruiter. It was by far the least professional interview I have experienced. The call was set for 30 minutes. However the recruiter was 20 minutes late , and didnt even acknowledge she was calling late let alone apologize. She proceeded to ask me generic questions about my experience. Very basic questions. There was no freeflowing conversation that I have had with almost all of my recruiter calls. But I realized that this was all just a prelude to get to the question of Salary. We were about 9 minutes in at that point ,and once she asked that, she ended the call . She would say that she would reach out with next steps. The next day I received the Robo email saying they were going with other more qualified candidates. Which to me was odd , as I had done everything in the job description for over 12 years. This conversation easily could be added to their web application and not have me waste time like this. Like others, I feel this was all to get to the salary question. And As you read you will see my experience is not unique.

This began with a junior level "screener" phone call - very scripted and non specific in terms of information relayed. Any questions I had were "we are looking for good people with relevant experience". I sort of blew this off after that call because I didn't get a good vibe. But then, I get a call back, to coordinate a call with the Hiring Manager. Great, I thought, lets see where this goes. In reading other's experience's here, It appears I'm not alone. It just got weirder. Guy calls me up....seems very sedated...not engaging, but again, "I'll see where this goes". He then asks me about my experience and why I think it would be a good fit for the role. Well, after providing generalized info on my experience, I also asked him questions about the role, and what he was looking for. Again, very vague responses....often followed by long pauses. At one point, I asked "hello?, are you still there?". All this to say, that is where this ended. Never heard back and honestly would have declined. There was nothing to connect to what they were looking for, what the job day to day was going to be, etc. Most bizarre interviews I think I've had in my 20 year career.

Worst interview process I have ever been through. Late to the interview and she was doing other things in between asking me questions. I am not even sure she listened to 1/2 of what I was saying. No personality and poor communication about next steps.
