I applied online and a recruiter got back to me to set up a phone screen which was a quick easy call. The recruiter then set up a more formal interview with a hiring manager.
The first interview was pretty standard asking me about different situations, what metrics can be used, how to manage teams, what does a product mean to me. I was told I did very well and he would like to set up a second round where they will send me a prompt/case study & I present a slide deck.
I thought I got ghosted because it took HR almost 3-4 weeks to schedule the next interview. They did not send me the prompt with the interview invite & I showed up unprepared then had to reschedule.
I waited another week or so for HR to get back to me and I had to remind them to please include the prompt this time.
It is sad that this process is so poorly handled by HR & their hiring team. There was a lot of wasted time & effort due to mistakes that could be easily fixed.

The recruiter didn't seem to understand much about the PM role. The scope of work was unclear, and the intended impact of the product was also unclear. The phone screen felt like a one-way interview instead of two because the recruiter only understood the project that they were hiring for on a high level.
