It was pretty simple. I had an interview with HR and the person who would eventually be my boss. I just showed a lot of enthusiasm and really wanted to work there which worked to my advantage. I interviewed over the phone as I was not in the state but still had a fair chance and got an offer

Interview with engineering team (about 4 people) where they ask about project experience and extracurricular interests. Interview was virtual, but that may have changed since then. It was not a stressful interview.
