      Candidatura

Ho presentato la mia candidatura online. La procedura ha richiesto 4 settimane. Ho sostenuto un colloquio presso Fiserv (Norcross, GA) nel mese di dic 2011

      Colloquio

I applied online and received a call from HR about 2 months later. I had an initial screen with HR that was casual and went over my work experience. Within a week or so she setup an interview with the enterprise Quality Program Manager. He was very nice and professional and explained the requirements of the job. About a week later I interviewed with the VP of Enterprise Quality. He asked extensive questions about my background and experience delivering quality programs. Although the interview was more difficult than the first it was straight forward and I felt confident about my answers. I then inter ideas with the VP of Professional Services. This interview also went well and we discussed some of the quality initiatives that needed to be done to help improve customer satisfaction. It took about 2 weeks and then I was invited to Dallas for an in-person interview with the VP of Professional Services. This is where the experience was not good. I was asked 2 days prior to fly to Dallas and sent an email with air and car details. The flight routed me through Charlotte NC although I was based in Atlanta which required me to get up at 2 pm to make the first flight. When I arrived in Dallas the rental car company told me that my flight had not been paid for. They called the travel agent who was not able to get in touch with the person at the company to provide a credit card. I gave my card since there was no other way to get the car. The best case scenario was that I would have only 2 hours at the office to interview if everything went well. Due to a severe rain storm and convention in the city it look me over an hour to get to the office and then only had time for a 1 hour interview before heading back to the airport. The VP of Professional services asked for me to meet with someone to discuss metrics. This gentleman said the most important part of my job would be running the quality metrics but did not believe implementing the quality programs to bring about change was important. He then asked if I had experience forecasting defects in software and I explained no because my past job as a quality manager was for a company that ran internal systems and we were not trying to meet customer requirements to sell them software like FiServ does. I told him I had worked extensively forecasting other metrics and building quality models. He then looked at my resume and said "what have you ever really done"? I couldn't help but wonder why I had been asked to fly to Dallas if this gentleman did not think I was qualified for the job not to mention how rude he was during the interview. I never heard from anyone at FiServ after the interview. The trip to Dallas and back took me a total of 19 hours and cost the company a good deal of money only to be told during the interview they didn't think I had done anything in my 14 year career in IT that including working for Andersen Consulting and managing an enterprise wide IT process across 14 states with 60,000 employees!
