Initial process of applying, and first set of screening phone interviews (including one with the hiring manager) was straight forward. Seamless and positive feedback indicating they were impressed, and facilitated an expedited (and heavily packed / back-to-back) set of interviews. Interviews revealed great details about their target customer's and some tug-of-war of which target audience to focus product design, and some disconnect between teams. Left with the impression I'd hear back very quickly. After over a week I sent a short follow-up requesting for information on conclusion. An hour later on a Friday I received a generic email indicating they have moved on to another pool of candidates. Disappointed in the lack of follow-through, poor communication, and IMHO respect. The interviews also revealed lack of understanding by the various stakeholders (part of the interviews) on what exactly this role entails or offers. The original job description threw in the kitchen sink and was inflated with unrealistic goals. One influential senior member was one of the few who appeared to understand the value of this role is in the UX Research facet of this role, and how that research data can be strategically used to driven/influence product design decision making.
