I had a very brief interview with a Flywire talent coordinator to discuss my background and professional experience. Although the interviewer received and read my resume she was very uninterested in hearing why I was interested in the role and Flywire as a whole; specifically because my background differed from the role I was interviewing for. The interviewer cut me off and told me she didn't think I was a good fit as the position was customer facing and my background has been very project based. It was very discouraging and frustrating as my resume clearly outlines my professional background to be asked to set time up to interview and then be told half way through the process that this role wasn't for me.

I went through several interview stages with Flywire , and while most interviewers were professional and friendly, the overall experience felt unnecessarily long and misaligned with the compensation being offered. The process included multiple rounds, assessments, and ongoing communication over an extended period of time. For the level of expectations, responsibilities, and exclusivity requirements discussed, the salary offered was surprisingly low compared to the market, especially for experienced candidates managing complex workloads and international operations. One of the biggest concerns was the imbalance between what the company expects from candidates and what it offers in return. The role demanded a high level of commitment and flexibility, but the compensation did not reflect that. I appreciate the opportunity to interview and meet some great people during the process, but I believe the company should reconsider both the length of the hiring process and the salary structure to remain competitive and respectful of candidates’ time and experience.
