      Candidatura

Ho presentato la mia candidatura tramite un'altra fonte. La procedura ha richiesto 2 giorni. Ho sostenuto un colloquio presso Focus Unlimited (Piscataway, NJ) nel mese di ago 2014

      Colloquio

They e-mailed me after finding my resume on Monster saying they wanted me to call them to set up an interview. 15 minutes later, they tried calling my phone (I was away at the time) and they sent another email indicating that they attempted to call me. I called back the next day to set up an interview. It was scheduled for the following day, Friday. They sent an email telling me to prepare some questions for the interview. When I arrived at the interview, I was immediately told it was just a preliminary interview to get to know me and that I should hold my questions until the second step of their 3-step interview process. The first interview made me a little antsy as it took place directly next to a company I had previously interviewed with that was a clear pyramid scheme selling Verizon Fi-os, but I decided to give Focus Unlimited Inc. a second chance. They set up the second interview that day for the following Monday (3 days later) and told me to have questions there as I would be shadowing someone in the company to see what an average day looks like. They told me the interview would take approximately an hour and a half. Monday comes and I arrive 15 minutes early. I wasn't seen for the "interview", a term I use loosely here, until 45 minutes after the scheduled time, so I was already unhappy. I was then told that I would be in this "interview" with one other candidate and that we would be driving about half an hour to a Wal-Mart where they conduct their business for the interview. I followed him through 30 minutes of traffic to the Wal-Mart only to find that they set up a folding table and sell subscriptions for Verizon Fi-os and Comcast after being told they were a marketing agency and that I would be participating in their "Management training program". The interviewer then went on to talk us through how he goes about selling subscriptions in the store. This alone took more than 2 hours, let alone the hour and a half I was previously told, and this doesn't even include travel. We were finally told about the salary. It was advertised as $30,000-$40,000 plus commission, but we found out that the entering salary is $10 per hour with 100% commission... AFTER a quota of $415 per week. In this stage of the "interview", we also found out the requirements for advancing through the management training program. These included a certain number of sales in a week and training of employees in a lower position. There are 4 stages in their program, the final being the manager position. After having all this explained, I was told to call a member of the company indicating an interest in a third interview with 3 reasons why I would be a good fit for the position. I did not make this call because through the entire process, Focus Unlimited Inc. seemed to be trying to hide that they were a sales company and it was a position in which I was entirely uninterested.

      Domande di colloquio [1]

      Domanda 1

They only asked minor questions about my resume and past experiences with the exception of asking me "We interview upwards of 50 people in a week. What sets you apart from our other candidates?"
