I filled out an application from the store in Lynnwood, WA and turned it back in to the manager. I got a call from her asking for an interview maybe a week later. Went in a few days later. They didn't tell me it was going to be a group interview, so I was surprised when 2 other girls showed up - but they were really nice and we started chatting right away. The manager took us outside because it was really sunny out, and she just started asking us about ourselves. She went through and asked us each the same questions. The questions I can remember: "Tell me about yourself." - I said where I grew up, went to school, what my passions are, general info like that. "If I called your best friend and asked what your strengths are, what would they say?" - I said, I am empathetic, I can read peoples emotions, and I can get along with others well. She then asked to give her a job situation where these strengths helped us. "Why do you want to work here?" - I said that I want to work there because I love the clothes, the atmosphere, and want to grow in my communication skills with customers. "Tell me about a time when you gave good customer service." "Tell me about a time when you had to deal with a difficult customer." She looked through our resumes and such, pointing out our work experiences and such. I brought an extra copy of my resume, even though I had given it to her when I applied. She ended up not having it there so it was a good thing I brought an extra! She then thanked us, and told us she'll get back to us by the end of the day. So, make sure to be yourself. It's great to make a little chit-chat and laugh with each other. Dress as though you already work there - so copy what you see employees wearing. I wore dark blue jeans with a white, studded top (F21) and brown studded booties(F21). Don't go overboard on makeup. Wear your hair nice and clean- I straightened mine - don't leave it unbrushed or messy. You might want to spend a few minutes researching the history of the store - just in case they ask you questions about it. Know your strengths, weaknesses, passions, and work experiences.
