The process started with an HR screening call, followed by a Teams interview and then two in-person interviews at their office. During the first in-person interview, I was required to complete several tests: an Excel assessment, a maths assessment, and an attention-to-detail test. The assessments were fairly straightforward and took around 30 minutes in total.
What surprised me was how extensive the process was for what was only a fixed-term contract role. During the initial HR screening call, I clearly stated my salary expectations, which were still within their stated budget. This wasn’t brought up again until the final interview, where I was asked about my current salary and my expected salary. One of the interviewers commented that my expectation was “quite a big jump,” even though it was exactly the same figure I had already discussed during the initial screening.
They eventually made an offer, but it was below the salary I had originally stated. I countered and reiterated the amount I had requested during the HR screening call. After that, I received a call from one of the interviewers that wasn't part of the recruitment team asking why I wouldn’t accept the initial offer. They even mentioned that if they had known my salary expectations, I wouldn’t have been invited to the final stage interview.
To be honest, I found the whole process quite surprising and somewhat absurd. In hindsight, it felt like a significant waste of time. If there’s one takeaway, it’s that when employers ask about your current salary, it may be better to say it’s confidential rather than disclose the exact figure.
That said, I will say that the recruitment team themselves were very nice to deal with throughout the process.

I recently interviewed for an Accounts role and came away genuinely impressed with the whole experience. The process was smooth, well organised, and refreshingly straightforward — no endless waiting around wondering if your CV had disappeared into a black hole.
A special shoutout to the Talent Acquisition rep who coordinated everything. She was a warm and charming woman and honestly one of the best parts of the process. Super organised, quick to respond, and just really easy to talk to. She kept everything moving while still making the experience feel human, which isn’t always a given in recruitment.
The interview was good and the conversations felt natural and gave a real sense of the team and how the role fits into the bigger picture.
All in all, a really positive experience. If the interview process is anything to go by, it feels like a place where people take both the work and the people seriously (but not themselves too seriously). Considering F1 is an old and iconic British company they are more forward thinking then I thought. A beautiful black women as the face of their recruitment made me feel proud to be British - bravo!

The interview process consisted of a phone screening, an online interview, and an in-person interview that included a presentation task.
Unfortunately, communication from HR throughout the process was poor. Scheduling interviews was slow and unclear, and after completing all stages I waited 2–3 weeks without any update. When I reached out for clarification, I was told the team was still deliberating and that progress was slow due to the summer break.
I was eventually informed by HR that I would not be progressing, with no initial explanation provided. After requesting feedback, I was told that my presentation was strong and the interviews went well, but due to internal changes they decided they required someone with prior sports industry experience.
This requirement seems like something that should have been identified at the outset when advertising the role, rather than after putting candidates through multiple interview stages. Overall, the process felt poorly managed and was a significant waste of time.
