Couldn't be any more smoother and responsive. The process took 2 weeks, including the take home assignment time. The process is very straight forward:
- HR Interaction
- Take-home Assignment
- Code Review
- Manager Interaction
- Team fit
My recruiter was Anna Pitchsmann. She is one of the best recruiters I have came across in my job hunting. She makes you feel very confident and guides you through whole process. In HR interaction round, she just asked my background, motivation to join FreeNow and couple of HR related questions.
Then, she gave me the take home assignment. Though original timeline was one week but I got sick and needed more time and she happily increased the time for submission.
After I submitted the assignment, just with in 2 days, she arranged the code review session with 2 engineers from FreeNow. Engineers were very professional and friendly. They asked questions around my submission and some stuff related to technology stack and the way I do work in my current team. They looked very positive through out the interview. At the end they gave me chance to ask anything about Free Now.
The very next day, I got email from HR (Anna) that she received the feedback. I was very impressed and happy that how fast the process is moving on and how responsive it is. Anyways the next step was Manager Interview. It was more like work related questions, like how you work in current environment and some situation based questions. Manager name was Sebastian. He was very pleasant personality. He was very friendly and that's why I never felt confused or in pressure. At the end, he reserved 15 minutes for me to ask anything related to company.
Just after 1 or 2 hour of the manager interview with Sebastian, I received email from HR that they would like to have this Cultural Fit Interview, though it was not like interview but just a meet up session. So, you and the team you might be joining get along and can know each other before hand. All the guys in team were very pleasant and easy going. They asked me about my background and I asked them so many questions regarding the team and the city Hamburg as well. They were very helpful and told me everything about the city and how can you find apartment and stuff.
And very next day in morning, Manager and HR had scheduled this meeting to discuss the offer. I was very happy and so do they seemed.
To sum up, I have been interviewed to many companies but the process FreeNow followed was the best one. Why? Because it was very responsive and transparent. I was never ever kept waiting for feedback. It took only 2 weeks including the time I took to submit the assignment.
I didn't move on with this opportunity just because I got another opportunity where my friend and brother are living. It was one of the most difficult decisions of my life. HR and I had this feed back session after I told them that I am moving on with another opportunity. And she wished me good luck and also told me that if I change my mind or ever want to join FreeNow again, you will be welcomed. I could not be more grateful to the recruitment team. Thanks again.
