      Candidatura

Ho presentato la mia candidatura online. Ho sostenuto un colloquio presso GEICO (West Palm Beach, FL) nel mese di apr 2016

      Colloquio

Phone Interview: They have an automated scheduling system to set up a phone interview, making things convenient. Recruiters are hard to get ahold of, but this is where the positives ended. The first question I got asked was "in the last year, how many unscheduled absences and tardies have you had?" Okay...I'm a grown man and a professional. My job performance hasn't been measured with attendance since my high school position at the local grocery store. I'm familiar with the area in West Palm Beach where they're located, and I found it hard to believe that employees are never tardy. When challenged, she replied with the cookie cutter reply "GEICO is committed to its employees and we need to be on time." Yeah, ok. They're looking for people to train in Virginia for four weeks and then somewhere in the region for another eight, so if you have a family or wife, don't mention that. They must have some serious losers in claims if they need to be away for 12 weeks. The interviewer stunk. She was reading a script the entire time, it was very obvious. She didn't ask any follow-up questions, just reread the job ad duties with "do you have any concerns" EVERY SINGLE TIME. I wasn't asked about my experience, or even the classic "tell me about yourself." Ditto for questions I might have had. All of the questions were scripted (her replies too, I believe) and it's obvious they're using lower level people to weed out applicants. The type of "I don't know if this is for you" interview usually used in blue collar job interviews. The kicker is that at the end of the interview she said "we probably won't be hiring you. I'm still going to send the information though." I've never heard of somebody being told they didn't get the job in the interview, especially when indeed, they did have an automated email moments later. I wouldn't bother with this job unless you're directly out of college with no work experience. They're looking to hire a certain "profile" of person, and judging from the reviews, their employees are treated like numbers. They have a call center atmosphere where everything is micromanaged by metrics. They won't come out and say it, but from the tenor of their questions, this is more of a 50-60 hour a week job than the 8-4:30 they promise. Jobs like this just aren't worth it.

Great interview in person process, I feel I was prepared enough for the questions that were asked. Use the STAR method when answering interview questions. I was interviewed by tenured employees.

This is a tough process! After you apply you receive an email to complete a personality assessment along with basic logic assessment. Google Geico block assessment to get familiar with it. If you pass this you move on to phase 2. Phase 2 is a recorded interview in which you're asked basic STAR questions. Google STAR and practice getting familiar with the method. It will help you. Basically you get asked a question like: describe a time when you dealt with a difficult situation and the outcome. Speak clear and slow, if you mess up you have up to 3 chances to record yourself flr each question. You will get a call from the recruiter asking how you think you did and you will have the chance to ask questions if you have any. Phase 3. I received a call from the recruiter about 2 hours after my recorded interview(Took place on Friday) asking to schedule an actual interview that following Monday. Be sure to be dressed business professional, find a quiet space, make sure your laptop is charged and download webex ahead of time. You will receive an email with instructions. I could not see them but i was being observed by the Auto damage supervisor and the recruiter. This is the hardest part so far! It is stressful, fast and a lot of information in a short amount of time. Breathe, relax and dont let the stress take over. Remain happy, ENTHUSIASTIC and complete the forms. There are 3 scenarios in which the recruiter calls as either the customer or repair facility. Be sure to pay attention to names and details. Have your forms up and ready to go. Your job is to fill out 2 forms. The claims form which include estimates and the check. Don't forget about the check. After your third scenario there is no downtime so be sure you fill out the forms as you go since once you hang up with the third scenario you can no longer fill anything out. This is the best i can describe it its really sink or swim. Don't get agitated and negotiate. Be as nice as you can and don't take anything personally. DONT WORRY ABOUT PEN AND PAPER BECAUSE YOU HAVE VERY LITTLE TIME TO COMPLETE SEVERAL TASKS. FOCUS ON FILLING OUT THE FORMS!!! Phase 4. If you get a call back youre supposed to have an actual interview with actual interview questions. I just completed phase 3 so i don't know if ill get a call or not. Good luck to anyone else out there.
