      Candidatura

Ho presentato la mia candidatura online. La procedura ha richiesto 2 settimane. Ho sostenuto un colloquio presso GEICO (San Diego, CA) nel mese di ott 2017

      Colloquio

Applied online directly through the Geico website. 2 days later I received an email from a recruiter about scheduling a phone interview. Because I had done the assessment before for another position within the last year before, I wasn’t asked to do another one this time. I scheduled the phone interview a week later and had a talk with a recruiter about some of the courses I took in school, the program itself, and some basic questions about my previous job so keep a copy of your resume handy and study some of the questions on here. There weren’t any STAR related questions at this point. The following day I received another email to schedule a testing/interview at the office. I did that about a week later. I showed up at about 8am and the first thing I did was a computer test. Pretty simple it just involved a lot of listening and navigating a computer system to test your multitasking/computer skills and it was then followed by a typing test. IMO that portion was very simple. About 5-10 minutes after I was informed that I passed that portion and I then went through the role play. There is honestly nothing you can study or look at to prepare for the role play, so my best advice is to pay close attention to the instructions and try to do the best you can as quickly and as accurately as possible. You will have a random scenario thrown at you where you have to do your best to work with upset “customers” or other employees and fill out some paperwork that may get randomly thrown at you as well. Try to prioritize because you may not need all the materials given so use your best judgement. It is very nerve-racking, so try to stay calm as well. It is very likely that you will make a mistake, but do not dwell on it and try to stay confident. That portion took maybe a full 45 minutes to an hour when you factor in the allotted time to read the instructions as well as the actual role playing. About 10-15 minutes after I was informed that I passed that portion and it was then time to shadow an agent and a supervisor. That was very relaxed and informative as I got to listen to 2 different live calls by the first agent who was very nice and informative. This gave me a pretty good idea of the systems used during calls and the types of things they do. I then got to shadow a supervisor who was already about 2 years into the program. I got to learn more about the responsibilities of a supervisor and to chat with him about the job and other things. Shadowing these 2 people took about an hour, so the very last thing I did was an interview with the hiring manager. At this point, there were actually 2 people interviewing me, the main hiring manager and another recruiter. They started off with a brief description of the position itself and how they got to the positions they’re in and a few things about themselves. It felt very relaxed. It was followed by more intense, thorough interview, which included a lot of STAR and situational/WWYD-type questions. Because it was a couple of months ago, I can’t remember any specific questions off the top of my head, but my best advice is to study just about all of the questions on here and to be prepared for any “normal” interview questions as well. When studying for the interview I went back about 15 pages on here and prepared answers for nearly everything. The questions you’ll find on here are pretty spot on. After that I was able to ask a few questions I had and we got a little more personal, just chatting about the possibilities of advancement, my background, and the possibilities of transferring, raises, etc. I then was walked back to the area I first took my computer test while the 2 men I just interviewed with went into the HR room. After maybe 10-15 minutes of sitting in the waiting room, he walked back out and offered me a job on the spot, which I accepted. This whole process took exactly 18 days from applying to getting the offer.

Went through one 30 min and one 60 min phone interview and 2 assessments. Both of the phone interviews were so faceless and it was just question after question. After all that, I wake up to an email saying I wasn't moving on to the last round. Such a Micky mouse organization.

      Colloquio

I applied for the MDP program in the Tristate area at the end of March. As I was prepping for the interview I looked on Glassdoor For tips but from my experience I believe a lot of our experiences will be different depending on where you are applying as my interview timeline seemed to be a little different from some reviews I read. So don’t depend on these reviews to be the exact same interview experience and timeline. One thing i will say is even though the process is long they move through the process fairly Quickly so as long as you are also applying for other opportunities it won’t feel like such a dragged out process. Most of the time you will get feedback the same day you complete a step. I also did not do a pre recorded hire vue video interview like some people did on here. 1) Contacted by recruiter to send transcript and availability for a preliminary phone interview. 2) spoke with recruiter about general overview on program, reviewed experiences on my resume, why geico and touched on brief leadership experiences from past jobs. Also talked about general job behaviors like how many times were you late and how many times did you call Out? I suggest answering these as if you never called out or were late because if you answer otherwise you will be called out for it. 3) first sent behavioral assessment with a virtual Customer service simulation. The next day i was sent the caliper assessment that goes into detail about your personality management style and logical questions. 4) few days later after calipher I was invited to compete a second phone interview a week later where they asked me situational STAR questions and about where else I’m applying and how does geico compare to My other options. This interview seems like they want to get to know about your management style, more in depth information about your leadership experience and how interested you actually are in this position. During this call The interviewer let me know immediately i will be moving on to the next step in the process which is a manager interview. I’m not sure if this is actually the last step or if this will be role play and then a final interview but from the wording it seems like this will be my last step. But my advice will be don’t depend on these reviews to give you the exact timeline on what to expect because it may differ depending on which location and MDP track you’re applying for. Just be honest and be yourself and don’t overthink it and you should do fine. This is my second time applying and I’m doing very well compared to the first time i applied two years ago and the first time i didn’t make it past the initial first phone interview. So if it’s meant to be and you don’t overly prepare you’ll do great! But don’t overthink it :)

Had a great interview with the interviewer, and then I was sent tests to take. I took one of the tests and felt I did well, but I was unable to take the second test due to a glitch. I attempted to contact the recruiter about this issue and she did not respond again.
